I’ve scheduled two workshops for Fall at the Morean Arts Center…one in Sept. and another in Nov.

These art workshops will be a good place to start for beginners and a chance to brush up on skills for intermediate artists. We’ll work from several of your own photos to draw and then paint, using new tricks for learning to “see” accurately in order to draw well. Students with no experience at all, will want to purchase a basic set of brushes and paints at Central Art Supply where the owner, Pat, can help you put together my list of materials.

DO NOT BE AFRAID!

We’re going to have fun and laugh a lot as we learn. You’ll be amazed at what you’ll be able to accomplish with some simple methods and guidance. After all, would you expect to play the piano without ever having a lesson? Best of all, you’ll understand the therapeutic sensation of making your own creative marks with pencil and paint. Trust me, you’ll love it.

If you want to talk to me about it before you decide, give me a call at 727-821-7681. The Morean will be coming out with the exact schedule soon. Their catalog is online.

Hard hat tour of the new Dali museum

Dr. Hank Hine, director of the Dali, gave a personal tour of the spectacular building under construction. Signature residents Peter Stanhope, Laura Bryant, Rita Bateman, Susan Burr, Jan Fazio and I were thrilled to be so honored. We are forming a committee to try to raise funds for the completion of the building early next year.
