~ Patton Hunter
Patton teaches and exhibits in the Tampa Bay area and is known for her bold, imaginative style and diversity.
The Artist's Magazine named her one of the top ten artists (over 60 years of age) in the country in its 2011 March issue and Watercolor Artist Magazine cited her in their 2011 December issue as one of ten American artists to watch in coming years.
She has studied in art workshops in Ireland, Italy, Greece, France, Mexico, and the Czech Republic, and studied for several years with the late, nationally renowned artist Marjorie Dean Andruk at the Morean Arts Center in St. Petersburg.
Through study and experimentation, her own style has emerged and continues to move in new directions. She has won numerous local and national awards including Signature Membership in the Florida Watercolor Society and induction into the prestigious Florida Artists Group (FLAG).
Patton is on the art faculty of the University of South Florida's Lifelong Learning program, teaches art workshops at the Morean Arts Center and other centers in St. Petersburg, and gives private instruction in her studio in St. Pete.
She lives in her studio/gallery loft in downtown St. Pete, recently voted the best art community of mid-sized cities in the USA.
